Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” looks like a more than worthy follow-up to his brilliant directorial effort from 2009, “Inglourious Basterds.”

Expect a fair amount of controversy surrounding this violent revenge thriller, which stars Jamie Foxx in the lead role, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio (playing a villain for the first time) and Christoph Waltz (who won a Supporting Actor Oscar for “Inglourious Basterds”).

“Django Unchained” will be unleashed to theaters on December 25 — because nothing says Christmastime quite like a violent revenge thriller about slavery, right?
