Rank & File: JAMES BOND (SEAN CONNERY)

The first James Bond movie I ever saw in theaters was "The Spy Who Loved Me." The year was 1977, and I was 8 years old. I loved the movie, and I loved the ones that followed -- "Moonraker" (yes, "Moonraker!") in 1979, and then "For Your Eyes Only" in 1981. To me, Roger Moore was James Bond. He was charming and funny, and his movies were exciting and entertaining. He was also my first Bond, and as the saying goes, you always love your first. And then I saw "Goldfinger," which even back then was widely regarded as one of the greatest Bond movies of all time. That really changed the game and opened my eyes to the groundbreaking, formative and seminal Bond installments of the 1960s that starred Sean Connery. Right away, I thought Connery was awesome, and I quickly grew to love his movies even more than Roger Moore's. To me, Connery was tougher, grittier, more hands-on and more dangerous -- exactly the kind of qualities you'd want from a world-class British spy with a license to kill. To this day, I still think Sean Connery is the best Bond ever, and to honor the Oscar-winning actor's passing at the age of 90, I present my "Rank & File" of all 7 of the James Bond movies he made between 1962 and 1983.
